Notion design bundle / self-hosted faces
   --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Created: 2026-08-13, Notion restyle phase P1, work package P1.2.
   BUILD-CONTRACT.md 3.1 (file plan) and 1.4 (table C, typography).

   WHY THIS FILE EXISTS

Before P1.2 this application loaded Plus Jakarta Sans and JetBrains Mono
from fonts.googleapis.com. That is the one external origin the whole app
requested, and it is wrong for this design system twice over:

     1. The captured system ships NO webfont on the app surface. Its own
drop-in sheet says so in as many words: "do not load a webfont into
the document body of an app-surface page". --font-app-ui is the OS
UI stack, and setting a webfont on the editor body is instantly
recognisable as not-Notion on both macOS and Windows.
     2. A third-party font request is a render-blocking round trip on every
cold load, and this application is frequently run on a LAN or behind
a tunnel where that origin may not resolve at all.

So the body stack becomes the OS stack (see --font-sans in styles.css) and
the only faces that ship are the two families the capture genuinely
redistributes, self hosted from the vendored bundle beside this file.

WHAT SHIPS, AND WHY IT MAY

iA Writer Mono S SIL OFL 1.1 four faces, roman and italic.
Consumed through --font-mono: code blocks, ids,
branch names, diff hunks. NOT the terminal, which
reads --font-code and stays on native metrics per
                        DECISIONS.md 3.3.
Permanent Marker Apache 2.0 one face.
Consumed through --font-handwriting. Nothing uses it
yet; the art-direction pass in P12 owns it. The face
is declared here rather than later because the binary
is already vendored and a font-family that resolves
to nothing is a silent fallback to Times.

NOT SHIPPED, because the licences do not permit it: NotionInter (a Notion
specific cut of Inter, no public grant) and Lyon Text (Commercial Type
retail). Both already have declared fallbacks inside their token stacks.

THE ONE EDIT MADE TO THE CAPTURED RULES

Notion declares its bold mono at weight 600, not 700. The two bold faces
below widen that to `600 700` so a `font-weight: 700` rule resolves to the
real bold file instead of a synthetic emboldening of the regular. This is
the capture's own documented widening and it is carried over verbatim.

PATHS. src points at /design/notion/fonts/, the vendored location. The
   binaries are byte-identical to docs/design/notion-import/_ds/assets/fonts/
and test/notion-token-parity.test.js asserts their SHA-256 on every run, so
a swapped or corrupted face fails CI rather than shipping.

font-display: swap on every face: text paints immediately in the fallback
and reflows when the face arrives, which is the right trade for a mono used
in code blocks rather than for body copy.
